This will help you with all of your physical activities inside and outside the gym. Think about how many times a day you raise your arms putting something on a shelf or moving boxes around. Stronger shoulders can make struggling tasks a lot easier.

In addition to raising the dumbbells to the front, you can add in the side raise and alternate repetitions. This will work the deltoid muscles on the sides of your shoulders.

  • Start out by doing a rep of the front raise; bring the dumbbells back down to your sides with your palms facing in.

  • After a brief pause, raise them straight out to your sides forming a "T".

  • Exhale as you slowly lower the dumbbells down to your starting position. Repeat your reps. Try and do 10-12 reps to each side.

  • You might want to use a lighter weight because of the higher number of reps.
