As a guy who played sports throughout my youth and some football in college, I always thought I made a mistake of not getting more involved in coaching.

Creating ourfitnesshouse.com has given me the satisfaction of doing some online coaching and sharing my knowledge of exercise and nutrition. It is such a pleasure to work on this site with my family and to interact with people like you who put a priority on living a quality lifestyle.

Our goal is to provide as much timely exercise and nutrition advice as possible, in order to help our readers achieve their health and fitness goals,

Mully In the Kitchen

As you will see from my grocery list and 1800 calorie weekly diet, I put a premium on eating a diet consisting mainly of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, nuts, and lean proteins.

Whether your goal is to lose weight or to get in better shape, the key is to develop healthy diet and exercise habits together. 

I will be posting diet and nutritional information going forward and I look forward to hearing your ideas.

A Match Made on the Track

The first time I saw my wife, Kim, she was out running. I didn't know her at that time, but a friend I was with pointed her out. A few months later we met and started dating.

I told her after we went out a few times that a goal of mine was to do a triathlon in Chicago that next summer. She decided to accept the challenge and we started training together for it together (working out with someone is very smart). We did compete in the Chicago triathlon and had a lot of fun. We didn't keep doing triathlons but did continue to run on an ongoing basis and participated in a number of 5 and 10k races. Our kids even did the races with us when they got old enough.

Kim had some issues with the discs in her lower back over the years and finally had to really limit her running habits in the last two years. To her credit, instead of going the easy route and just stopping aerobic activities, she switched her aerobic workouts to elliptical training and has gotten in the best shape of her life at age 50.

I am very thankful that my wife Kim will be sharing her very successful workout habits with you through video and illustrated images.

She will also be sharing other health and fitness tips that have worked well for her.
